First hour ratings and recoveries are rounded to the nearest gallon.
40 and 50 gallon models have 3/4" inlet and outlet connections. 75 gallon model
has 1" inlet and outlet connections.

Venting System Requirements
- The water heater requires its own (separate) venting system.
- Venting cannot be connected to existing vent piping or chimney.
- Venting must terminate horizontally to the outdoors.
- For venting, 3" PVC, CPVC, ABS Schedule 40" pipe can be used. 52,500,
65,000 and 75,000 BTU models must use ABS piping and elbow supplied for the first
5'.
- Vertical and horizontal runs must be secured at 31/2' intervals.
- Vent piping cannot under any circumstances be run downhill.
- No more than three elbows can be used.
- Horizontal runs require a minimum 1/4" rise per foot.
- Vertical runs cannot exceed 20'.
- Total vertical and horizontal runs cannot exceed 35'.
- To comply with ANSI Standards install vent piping so that it can be visually
inspected.
- IMPORTANT! Combustion air and ventilation requirements for Power-Vent water
heaters.
- 18" min. in all directions from any obstructions that may interfere with
ventilation.
- Vent terminal shall terminate at least 3 feet above any forced air inlet located
within 10 feet.
- 18" min. from other gravity or natural appliance outlet vents when directly
above or 135° to either side of center line vent.
- 36" min. from any outlet vents when directly below or 45° to either
side of center line.
- 36" min. in all directions from any other forced air appliance outlet.
- Provide clearance for servicing and proper operation of water heater.
- Snow accumulation and drifting should be considered.
- Vent termination must be within 4 feet of any items such as gas meters, gas valves
or other gas regulating equipment.
- 0" clearance for 3" PVC, ABS or CPVC Schedule 40 vent piping from combustible
surfaces.
- 12" min. from the ground, 18" from ceiling overhangs.
- Power-vent terminal shall terminate at least 4 feet below, 4 feet horizontally
from or 1 foot above any door, window or gravity air inlet into the building.
