Geyser C-55

The C55 is a High Efficiency Air-to-Water Heat Pump Water Heater. This is the most efficient way to heat water, drawing energy from the ambient air and thereby saving 60% — 75% in costs over an electric water heater. The C55 can be attached to most existing or new storage tanks and is suitable for potable water applications, ideal for restaurants, apartment buildings, hospitals, etc. It can generate hot water up to 150°F.

The GEYSER® is made by Nyle Systems in Brewer, Maine and just like “Old Faithful” in Yellowstone National Park, it is a natural and renewable hot water source that will prove reliable for years to come.

How does the Geyser work?

Heat is extracted from the air surrounding the C55 and utilizing heat pump technology, that energy is used to heat the water in your tank. In many parts of the world, heat pumps are considered a source of renewable energy, like wind or solar. As a by-product of heating water, the C55 cools and dehumidifies the air. This air can be ducted to where it reduces the load on air conditioning, further increasing your savings.

How energy efficient is the C55?

In a typical installation, the C55 has a COP ranging from 3-5, depending on the ambient air and water temperatures. This means it creates 3-5 units of renewable heat from the air for every 1 unit of electricity required to run the unit. This 300% to 500% efficiency compares with efficiencies of traditional water heaters of approximately 70% for gas or oil to 90% for electric water heaters. The investment payback period is typically 1 — 3 years, depending on a number of factors, including how much water you use.

What Applications are suitable for the C55?

In a typical installation the C55 generates 115 Gallons of hot water per hour, which is ideally suited for small commercial applications. Please contact us for larger capacities. These units are ideally suited for restaurants, hotels/motels, laundry facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, health care facilities, sports arenas, meeting facilities, schools, gyms, restaurants, commercial office or retail buildings, manufacturing facilities, and more.

Is the C55 difficult to install or maintain?

The C55 can be installed indoors, in utility rooms, kitchens, etc., or it can be installed outdoors in warm climates. It operates efficiently as long as the ambient air temperature is at or above 45•F. It connects to electric, oil, gas, or propane hot water tanks. The pump has been sized to allow for 25 feet of piping to and from the storage tank (additional pump can be added during install if the run is longer). Maintenance is as simple as periodically cleaning the air filter provided on the unit. The C55 is manufactured in Brewer, ME, USA by Nyle Systems, a company with 35 years of experience building energy saving heat pump systems, meaning quality, reliability and service.

Key Features and Benefits

Typical operating at COP from 3.0 to 5.0, meaning it is expected to save 65% — 75% versus the costs of running an electric water heater.

The air surrounding the unit is being cooled and dehumidified, reducing the need for air-conditioning and further increasing savings.

Can be connected to any storage tank water heater, including: Electric, Oil, Natural Gas, Propane (requires two 1-inch connections).

Minimum ambient temperature to run is 45°F. If the temperature can go lower, having a back up heat source for just those occasions is recommended (can be the heating element in the existing tank). Portable water lines implies it should not be exposed to sub-zero temperatures (the water in the pipes can freeze-up).

Can be disconnected and reinstalled with other tanks in case you change tanks

Vented Heat Exchanger (double walled), required for applications involving heating of portable water.

Painted aluminum cabinet provides superior protection against corrosion. Cabinet is insulated to minimize noise levels.
